The research projects conducted within the TropNet network aim on providing evidence-based data for travel advice and the management of tropical and travel medicine related health problems as well as sentinel surveillance of tropical diseases imported to Europe.
In times of ″evidence-based medicine″ the development of national and international recommendations and guidelines largely depends on data obtained from such research projects.
